Journeying the labyrinth as a way to return to the heart and experiencing the sacredness of life.

the Labyrinth as a portal to the heart and beyond

"The Labyrinth facilitates the way towards the heart, of opening, listening and trusting oneself and beyond"

Journeying the labyrinth in prayer, mindfulness, respect, openness, trust, surrender and presence can be an insightful metaphor for the ways we journey throughout our lives.  One is invited to expand on the sensory perceptions common to daily life and enter into the realm of the heart, intuition and beyond.

Labyrinths were used by various cultures around the world. Their  use is also very relevant today in our so modern world. It is an opportunity to join beyond our different up bringning, cultures and perspectives and  find a unified home.

Enter a maze to lose yourself and a labyrinth to find yourself.

A labyrinth is different than a maze.  The labyrinth has a simple unidirectional path leading towards the center, and back the same way. A maze on the other hand has many pathways, dead ends and tricks, stimulating the more familiar left brain activities such as thinking and analyzing. The labyrinth enhances right brain activity, helping us to disengage from thinking . This process opens us up to our more feminine qualities: our intuition and creativity 〜 one’s unique inner wisdom in connection with nature and spiritual guidance.

The magic of the labyrinth lies in its universal simplicity: ‘walking’ the path. Only you yourself can ‘walk’ your own path.  Whether you go on your knees, dance, walk slow, crawl or jump doesn’t matter. What matters is how far do you allow yourself to walk in the light of your own truth?

A co〜creative labyrinth experience opens and facilitates the way towards the heart, prayer, intuition, metaphor, imagination, creativity, sacred geometry, conscious play, spiritual pilgrimage, ceremonial practice, mindfulness and community building.

With so much potential, one crucial ingredient to the co〜creative experience is that of: letting 〜go〜of〜any〜expectations〜surrendering〜and〜allowing〜the〜simplicity 〜of〜the〜present〜moment〜to〜reveal〜itself〜in〜the〜process.

I wish you a mindful journey!

Labyrinth heart journeys

my journey

Bani Christine Cutajar

Some human years ago I was born and raised on the sweet Island of Malta. Growing up, some of my joys were playing in the sun and sea looking for magic in seashells and stones. Later I found great joy in caring for our four legged friends, mainly cats and dogs. Growing up a little bit more I developed a curiosity for foreign unfamiliar lands so I traveled, discovered, wondered and grew a little bit more. I explored some of the different worlds in nature, different cultures, health, healing and well〜being ways, ecological and communal living in Ireland, Scotland, Egypt, Ethiopia, Peru, and Portugal. Then life gifted me with the creation of life inside of me, my wonderful daughter. It was then when the Labyrinth started whispering her attention. By the time my daughter was running in the Bohemian forests the Labyrinth called and called again until I was finally ready to answer. Together with my daughter we collected stones from the forest, hoping to have enough to co〜create the first Labyrinth.  Together with participants we co~created our first stone Labyrinth in the Bohemian forest. We did indeed have just enough stones!

Following the calls, the road revealed itself as a co〜creative service to hold space for personal journeys of introspection, reflection, and perhaps transformation, experiencing the space created when one enters quietude and hears the peace and voices of the Heart and beyond.

more about me…

The mysterious inner pull to understand the unknown and make sense of our human nature 〜 how we relate to ourselves, each other and to the natural and spiritual worlds, has taken me on a river of adventures. I journeyed outer and inner, ecstatic and depressive, lonely and communal. Adventures of which seemed unclear at times, especially when I detoured from planned routes. Trusting, Experiencing, moment to moment. Trusting and Trusting. Trusting the calm waters. Trusting the turbulent seas of experience, growth, and transformation. Learning to Trust myself and beyond.

The outer journeys transformed my inner world and vice versa, revealing the essence of myself to myself. Something which no amount of academic training and solely mental understanding could ever give me.

My enthusiasm which fuels my lifelong learning and experiencing life is oriented around the areas of psychology, group facilitation, massage therapy, holistic and natural healing, living in harmony with Mother Earth, nature photography, empowering mothers, and exploring our connection with the Sacred.

Feeling deep Gratitude for all the experiences on my journey; the highs and lows of family life, academic, formal and informal education, creative journeys, traveling and living in foreign lands, the cycles of partnership, community living, sharing parenting, and the incredible transformative journey of becoming a mother. These are the colours which shape my creative work and service as a Labyrinth co〜creative facilitator.

My diverse experiences merge and unify when I hold space for a Labyrinth Journey. They provide the groundwork upon which I facilitate, orienting me towards empowering others to their highest Heart potential and holding space for facilitating the connection with nature and beyond.

It will be my humblest pleasure to hold space for co〜 creating our journeys together.
